Maria Bakalova Enjoys The Sunshine in Miami On The Beach With Friends

Maria Bakalova cozies up to a shirtless guy while enjoying some downtime at the beach over the weekend in Miami, Fla.

The 23-year-old Borat Subsequent Moviefilm actress chilled out with her friends in the sand while walking along the short before returning to her hotel where she was masked up to go indoors in the public space.

Maria was seen in a cute one piece suit with jeans on the beach, and toasted in celebration with the men she was with there.

She is best known for her breakout role in the Sacha Baron Cohen film, Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, for which she’s gaining critical acclaim. In fact, she just picked up a major award for her role!

“Turned out she had just had her graduation from an acting academy she was going to, and it was the middle of the night after the graduation, and she’s in this attic, and she was just hilarious and real and doing some material that we’d sent her,” director Jason Woliner shared with Collider about how they cast Maria in the role of Sacha‘s on-screen daughter, Tutar.

He added that, “it was a speech about how her daddy’s the best daddy in the village and her cage is nicer than the other girls’. She just had so much cockiness and bravado about how nice her cage was that it was really hilarious. And she also felt so real.”

After her initial From there, both Sacha and Maria both flew to England to shoot test footage, where they were in disguise and played opposite an older English couple who were unaware of what was going on.
