Portugal completes DTT frequency migration

Portugal has completed DTT frequency migration, making 700 MHz spectrum available for 5G. In total, 243 transmitters have changed frequency, which involved more than 100 employees of the National Communications Authority (Anacom). The 5G frequency rights will be allocated in the first quarter of 2021 and the rules foresee that 95 percent of the territory and 90 percent of the population will be covered with 5G service by 2025.
