Union minister ruled out reversal of farm laws

Bengaluru, Dec 20 (UNI) Union Minister of State of Social Justice, Ramdas Athawale, while favored for talks with the agitating farmers, had ruled out any possibilities of rolling back of Farm Laws.
Addressing a press conference here today, the minister said that "The Farm laws, including that of amendments to the Land Reforms as well as APMC Acts, will fetch benefit to the farming community, and will not hurt their interests."
Maintaining that the Farmers agitation, has attained a political color, he said, "We are ready to negotiate with the farmers on bringing amendments to the farm laws and can arrive to a decision after talk".
Referring to West Bengal, politics, the union minister said that the people of West Bengal had suffered under the Trinamul Congress rule, led by Mamata Banerjee, he predicted that BJP would come to power in the state.
"With the BJP at the saddle of power a new era of Development in the state would usher" he said.
He also thanked the Karnataka Chief minister for taking measures to establish Maratha Development Authority, which would benefit the Marathi speaking people, who are in large numbers in the state.
