A 58-year-old woman allegedly died on Sunday morning due to "shock" over embarassment after municipal authority dumped garbage in front of her house in Telangana's Narayankhed district.

Narayankhed municipality officials dumped garbage in front of the house of Bhumavva on December 15 for failing to pay house tax.

Bhumavva's family claimed that she was "deeply upset" and felt "humiliated" after the municipality officials dumped garbage in front of her house.

Her health condition worsened on Saturday and the family rushed her to a hospital in Sangareddy where she died on Sunday morning.

The family members blamed the civic body and alleged that Bhumavva died due to the "humiliation" she faced and "excessive action by the authorities".

The municipal officials had dumped garbage in front of Bhumavva's house on December 15 and removed it on December 17. Her family claimed her health deteriorated as she went into "shock" after the incident on December 15 and it only worsened further. She later died on Sunday.

Meanwhile, police said they have received no complaint regarding the incident and an official said that the woman was an asthma patient and was facing several other health issues.
