Achievement of Manipuri Filmmakers at the Indian Panorama of 51st International Film Festival of India 2020

Television and Cinema Foundation, Manipur congrajulates Amar Maibam, Bobby Wahengbam, Maipaksana Haorongbam for their recent achievement at the Indian Panorama of the 51st International Film Festival of India, 2020. The foundation also congratulates Haobam Paban Kumar on being the chairman of the Juries at the non-feature section of the Indian Panorama.

Highways of Life, a 52 minutes documentary film directed by Amar Maibam and Eigi Kona (Stallone My Pony) a 90-minute feature film directed by Bobby Wahengbam & Maipaksana Haorongbam are being selected at the Indian Panorama of the 51st International Film Festival of India, 2020.

Highways of Life is produced by Films Division of India. Biju Das, Partha Halder, Kiranmala Thokchom are the editor, sound designer, executive producers of the film. While the script and cinematography was done by the director himself.

The documentary film journeys a group of truckers as they manoeuvre through the highways, putting their lives on the frontline, ferrying essential commodities to serve the three million people of Manipur in the two intense public movements played out on the highways.

Maipaksana Haorongbam

Eigee Kona (Stallone My Pony) is produced by Dr K Sushila former director of Arts and Culture, Government of Manipur. Irom Maipak, Rajkumar Lalmani, are the Cinematographer and editor of the film while the sound recording, mixing and design was done by Yumnam Tomal, Loitongbam Sunil and Bonni Ningthoujam respectively. The story and screenplay of the film was done by Maipaksana Haorongbam who is also one of the director for the film.

A brief story of the film - Thawai is in love with Stallone, a Manipuri polo pony. One day Thawai’s poverty stricken father sells off Stallone without his son’s knowledge. Thawai thinks Stallone has gone missing.
