The country's great freedom fighters Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ullah Khan, and Thakur Roshan Singh were hanged on this day i.e. 19 December 1927. Today is celebrated as the day of sacrifice. These three had given up everything to give the country independence. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla shared the photos of the three and saluted them.
All three were hanged as punishment for the execution of the Kakori incident. On the night of August 9, 1925, revolutionaries including Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Rajendra Lahiri, and Thakur Roshan Singh looted government goods being brought in trains between Kakori and Alamnagar, some distance from Lucknow.
However, this theft caught everyone's attention. Chandrashekhar Azad somehow survived the police arrest but Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Rajendra Lohiri, and Thakur Roshan Singh were sentenced to be hanged.
Ram Prasad Bismil
Ram Prasad Bismit was one of the main fighters of the Indian freedom struggle. He was born in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He played the lead role in Kakori Kand. Ram Prasad Bismil is also known as a good poet and lyricist.
Ashfaqulla Khan
Ashfaq Ulla Khan was born in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, he played the lead role in Kakori Kand. Ashfaq Ulla Khan was the best poet of Urdu language. Ashfaq Ulla Khan and Pandit Ram Prasad Bismit were very close friends.
Thakur Roshan Singh
Roshan Singh was born in Nawada village of Shahjahanpur. He also played an important role in the Indian freedom struggle. According to some historians, Roshan Singh was hanged on 19 December 1927 in Allahabad's Naini jail due to his involvement in the Kakori incident.
