Senapati, December 18 2020: The Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has condemned the delay in the implementation of the State Cabinet's decision to upgrade the schools in Senapati DHQ.

Addressing the media, SDSA president, Pung Mark stated that the delay in upgrading the Senapati Aided Junior High School to a full fledged Government High School is rather unfortunate.

The Commissioner of Education (S) had already issued an order to upgrade the school.

However, the Education Department has failed to implement the order till date, he added.

The student body expressed dissatisfaction with inefficiency and negligence of the Education Department.

Senapati district is the only district in the State without a full-fledged Govemment High School in the district headquarters.

Pung Mark added that they were expecting the construction and recruitment process for the school to be carried out soon after the order was issued by the Commissioner of Education (S) .

He urged the State Government to implement the Cabinet decision to upgrade the school as soon as possible.

While appreciating the decision of the Cabinet, the Senapati District Students' Association further appealed to the department concerned to expedite the process at the earliest or the student body would be compelled to take other course of action.

It may be mentioned that T Ranjit Singh Commissioner, Education (S), had earlier issued an official order stating the approval for the conversion of the Senapati Aided Junior High temporarily for the period upto 29th February 2020 .

In addition, the absorption of 4 qualified approved teachers and regularisation and absorption of 6 qualified unapproved teachers of the Erstwhile Senapati Aided Junior High School was also approved.

Finally, it was also ordered that all the existing infrastructure and assets of Senapati Aided Junior High School were to be transferred to the State Government.
