Building violation issued after boy, 14, dies in ritual bath

WESLEY HILLS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have issued a building violation to the owner of a Wesley Hills home where a 14-year-old boy died after falling into a Jewish ritual bath.

The Rockland Journal News reports the mikvah was added to the home without a village building permit.

First responders went to the house Wednesday morning after the boy, Mordechai Paneth, was found underwater in the mikvah.

Ramapo police have declined to provide details about their investigation, the Journal News reported.
