LUCKNOW: At least 4,000 persons are making use of the e-sanjivani portal started by the state health department to provide virtual medical consultation to the people of the state.
According to an assessment undertaken by the government, more than 2.80 lakh persons have used the platform since its launch. “UP ranks second only to Tamil Nadu,” an official spokesperson said.
Stating that the tele-consultation facility is being provided by over 500 MBBS doctors and 40 specialists, the spokesperson said: “The service gained popularity among the people in such a short time.”
Health officials said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had envisaged that the people of the state should get medical consultation while remaining at their homes during the pandemic period. “The service paid rich dividends by saving more than 2.8 lakh people from the getting exposed to the pandemic virus,” they said.
