Woman booked for husband’s killing

Ludhiana, December 18

The Jamalpur police registered a murder case against a woman who, along with her paramour and one other person, had allegedly killed her husband.

The woman had planned the murder of her husband as he had come to know about her illicit relationship.

The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Kaur, wife of the deceased of Tajpur Bet, Gurdeep Singh of Kardiana Kalan and Gurpreet Singh of Hawas village.

The complainant Malkit Singh of Dugri village in Khanna told the police that recently his nephew had met him and he was in tension. When he was asked about the cause of the tension, he revealed that his shop tenant Gurdeep, who runs auto repair shop, had developed illicit relationship with his wife and in his absence, his tenant had been visiting their house to meet his wife.

His nephew had also then revealed that when he had warned the accused Gurdeep to stay away from his wife, the accused, along with his friend Gurpreet Singh, had threatened to kill him.

“My nephew had expressed fear that his wife, along with his paramour, might plan his murder.

Then on November 12, he got a call from the wife of the deceased who informed that her husband had gone missing on November 11. Initially, I thought Lakhvir might have gone to farmers’ protest in Delhi. Later when I talked to the wife of the deceased, I found his statement suspicious,” he revealed.

Singh said he then talked to the market president of Tajpur Bet who had informed that on the night of November 11, he saw Gurdeep and Gurpreet in Innova car and one man was lying on the seat.

Suspecting the role of the wife of the deceased and others, a complaint was lodged and an FIR was registered.

The police said two accused Gurdeep Singh and Gurpreet Kaur were arrested and efforts were on to recover the body.

The police said after killing the victim, his body was thrown into the canal, and the police, along with divers, was searching for the body — TNS.
