Kalyan BJP women’s wing president booked for Rs 1.7 crore con

KALYAN: The police on Friday booked four people, including BJPKalyan women wing president Rekha Jadhav, for cheating six people of Rs 1.7 crore. So far, Mahatma Phule police have arrested two accused—Jadhav and prime accused Shreekant Rao. The other two accused are Sandeep Sanap and Sunil Avhad.
The four accused, who ran an investment firm, promised 18% returns per year. Complainants claimed that the accused cheated them five years ago, but local police did not take action then.
The police took actiononly after NCP state spokesperson Vikal Lavande raised the issue with Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh, who then directed tje police to act.
According to the police, the accused ran a firm called ATM Multitrade Services. They had been luring victims since 2014 with their scheme.
Complainants, Gauripadabased Chandraprabha Dhagale and five others, invested between Rs 10-50 lakh each. They approached the police, following which the four were booked under the IPC and Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors (MPID) Act.
