Manipur: Recovery rate improves, total Covid cases reach 27,598

Imphal, Dec 19 (UNI) : Two persons died of Covid while 58 new cases

were detected and 141 discharged. I

n the past twenty-four hours, 56 persons (35 Male, 21 Female) from general population and two personnel fromCentral Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVIDI9

positive cases.

The positive persons were tested at JNIMS (10), Imphal West (15),

Mother's Care (1), Maipakpi (1), Asian Hospital (1), Lamjingba (1),

Samaritan (1), Shija Hospital (11), Thoubal (1), Tamenglong (5),

Churachandpur (1), Jiribam (1) and Babina Diagnostics (9).

The positive cases from general population are from Imphal West (28),

Imphal East (16), Thoubal (2), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (4) and

Tamenglong (5). All were locals without any significant travel

history.

In the last 24 hours, two persons aged 76 yrs (male, Imphal West) and

75 yrs (male, Senapati) expired at RIMS Hospital (2). The cumulative

number of deaths was 336.

The total number of discharged persons was 141. They are from CAPF

(3), Home Isolation (113), REMS (5), JNIMS (2), LKK (4), LANVA (2),

UNACCO (2), TK Ukhrul (4), Shija Hospital (5) and Sadbhavna (1).

The cumulative number of positive cases was 27,598 (General Population

- 24,266 and Central Security Personnel — 3,332). The cumulative

number of recovered cases was 25,512 (General Population — 22,390 and

Central Security Personnel — 3,122). The number of active cases was

1,750 (General Population — 1,544 and Central Security Personnel —

206). The recovery rate was 92.44 % said Dr. Khoirom Sasheekumar
