Atletico Madrid will look to bounce back from defeat in El Derbi Madrileno when Elche travel to the capital in La Liga on Saturday at 6:30 PM IST.
Diego Simeone saw his side’s 26-game unbeaten run in the Spanish top flight come to an end at the weekend as Real Madrid ran out 2-0 victors at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, while a further win for Los Blancos on Tuesday night has drawn the clubs level on points.
Atleti currently sit at the top of the table with two games in hand, and will look to get back to winning ways when mid-table Elche come to town.

THE PREDICTION
Atletico come into this game with a win being more crucial than they’d have liked. A 2-0 defeat to Real last week means the league leaders have come under more pressure. Simeone has insisted that Atletico are not and will not be favourites but the poor form of the Clasico rivals and an improvement in the aesthetics of Atletico’s style combined with a continued defensive resilience means they really should win the title – at least, it is a huge opportunity to do so.
They come up against an Elche side who are now winless in six games with four draws and two defeats in that time. A 1-0 loss against a strong Granada last week contributed to a continuation of that poor form and leaves the newly-promoted side in a relegation battle with about ten sides minimum, possibly twelve at this early stage of the season.
Atletico will be confident of getting back on track but it doesn’t look like it’ll be high-scoring.
