Won't tolerate any harm to India's self respect : Rajnath warns

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (UNI) Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday warned that if there is any harm to India's self-respect it will not be tolerated.
''India wants peace but will not tolerate any harm to its self-respect,'' Mr Rajnath said in his address at the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) held at Air Force Academy (AFA) in Dundigul near here.
He said ''India has the capability of giving a befitting reply to any kind of aggression, transgression or unilateral acts and asserted that it is fully prepared to face any situation if there is a harm to the country's self respect.''
The Defence Minister also said China’s “attitude reflected that country’s intentions” during these Covid times, but we have shown that India is not weak. This is new India that will give a befitting reply to any kind of transgression, aggression or any unilateral acts, he added.
He said with India-China held several rounds of talks on the border stand-off to resolve the issue and added India wants peaceful resolution of disputes.
Mr Singh claimed that India has found the support of many countries, even as it has received accolades.
Pointing out that several round of talks have been held at the diplomatic and Military levels to solve the border issue, the Minister said “let me reiterate, we don’t want conflict but peace.”
He said Pakistan was indulging in skirmishes on the borders and charged the neighbour for indulging in a “proxy war” using terrorism, despite being defeated by India in four wars.
Stating that the war patterns are changing, Mr Singh asked the newly commissioned flying officers of the IAF to be prepared for newer and emerging challenges like cyberspace war.
He also asked the newly commissioned flying officers to be ready for future challenges and equip and update themselves with the emerging technologies and recalled the services rendered by Air Force especially in transporting supplies.
About 100 flight cadets of various branches of IAF, including three from friendly countries, have passed out from the AFA and the Minister presented them wings.
Union Minister of state for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria and Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) Chairman Dr G Sateesh Reddy were present at the function.
Mr Singh later visited DRDO here.
