Imphal, December 18 2020: Security forces in a joint operation with police apprehended an alleged self styled captain of UNLF and recovered arms and ammunition from Yaralpat area, Imphal East yesterday, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South) .

Based on specific inputs, the combined forces launched an operation and apprehended the self-styled captain, who is the area commander of Imphal East of proscribed group UNLF and recovered two AK-56 Rifles, one 9mm Pistol Beretta, one .38 Pistol, 143 rounds of AK-56, 10 rounds of 9mm Pistol and nine rounds of .38 Pistol.

In addition, bomb making materials consisting of three electronic circuits, two dry cell batteries, one remote control device and a four-meter-long wire have also been recovered.

The arrested person along with the recovered items have been handed over to Porompat Police Station for further investigation, said AR .
