TRICHY: AIADMK Rajya Sabha member R Vaithilingam on Saturday said the Election Commission of India (ECI) will announce on March 1 the date for Tamil Nadu assembly election.
Vaithilingam was speaking at an AIADMK youth brigade meeting in Trichy.
He asked the cadre to stay focussed and work tirelessly for the victory of the party in the assembly election.
“On March 1, the Election Commission will announce the date. We have two months left. Every cadre should work towards the target -- to make the party win. That (electoral success) will be the gratitude we show to Puratchi Thalaivar (MGR) and Puratchi Thalaivi (Jayalalithaa),” Vaithilingam said.
He asked the youth brigade and women wing workers to form committees within a week for examining booth-wise voter lists as corrections were made on the electoral roll recently.
