Employees of the Municipal Corporation (MC) here today carried out an awareness rally and appealed to the people not to throw garbage in Buddha Nullah.
Meanwhile, the MC officials said they had started issuing challans to the violators who were found littering Buddha Nullah.
Chief sanitary inspector Ashwani Sahota said the MC staff issued challans to 15 persons who were found littering the nullah today. He said they were displaying banners, appealing to the people not to throw garbage into the nullah.
He said announcements were being made that action would be taken against those found littering the nullah.
The Municipal Corporation has decided to deploy its staff to keep a check on Buddha Nullah so that action could be taken against those who were found littering the drain.
