India vs Australia (IND vs AUS) 1st Test, Day 2 Highlights: Ravichandran Ashwin produced one of his most memorable overseas performances as Indian bowlers collectively terrorised Australia into submission, bowling them out for 191 on the second day of the opening Day/Night Test on Friday.
Courtesy Ashwin’s 18-3-55-4, India successfully managed to neutralise a sub-par first innings score of 244. Rival skipper Tim Paine (73 off 99 balls) was the only home batsman to show stomach for a fight.
With a handy first innings lead of 53 runs, India found their opener Prithvi Shaw’s defence being breached again before ending the day at 9/1 — an overall lead of 62 runs.
Stumps on another enthralling day of Test cricket. India gain slight advantage to finish Day 2 with a lead of 62 despite Paine’s fightback. Nightwatchman Bumrah and Agarwal survive till stumps.
Short stay for Shaw again, this time by Pat Cummins, who knocks his stumps over. Jasprit Bumrah at No.3 is India's nightwatchman. Bumrah was promoted above Shami in the first innings, he's now all the way up. IND are 7/1 after 4 overs.
First chance goes begging for Australia on a day of dropped catches in Adelaide. Tim Paine dives to his right and drops a tough chance. Was a healthy edge from Mayank Agarwal, could've been a perfect start for Cummins and Australia. IND are 7/0 after 2 overs.

Australia are bowled out for 191, giving India a lead of 53 Ashwin the standout bowler with four-fer. India take a very handy lead in the first innings but will face a few overs under lights.
Ashwin to Lyon, out CAUGHT, finally, Ashwin gets him, tried to flick that through the on side, mistimes it and holes to Kohli who catches it confortably. Ashwin gets his fourth. AUS are 167/9 after 67 overs.
Tim Paine scores the only 50 in his team's innings so far. He remains the key for AUS as they look to reduce the deficit to the IND total, which it must be said looked inadequate only a couple of hours ago. AUS are 156/8 after 64 overs.
Starc is run out just as his partnership with Tim Paine had started looking promising. Australia lose another as Starc is caught short after a flat throw from Shaw. Nathan Lyon comes to the crease. AUS are 143/8 after 61 overs.
Saha this time, runs back and drops a high ball. He never looked like catching that. Saha fails to hold on to a tough, tough chance. The number of drop catches are going to hurt India. AUS are 136/7 after 59 overs.
One brings two! Double strike for Umesh as he gets Cummins with a short one at Cummins and Rahane completes an easy catch. Umesh Yadav is shining under the lights. Score after 54 overs, AUS- 111/7
Umesh Yadav traps Labuschagne for 47(119). A review can't save Labuschagne, who's patient innings comes to an end. Score after 53.4 overs, AUS- 111/6
FOUR, runs coming thick and fast now! There's enough zip for the bowlers under lights which the batsmen are able to take advantage of, Paine punches a back of a length delivery and towards square on the off-side. Score after 52 overs, AUS- 103/5
The Indian batsmen had trouble tackling the conditions last night and this might not be the best time for new batsmen to come in. Australia do have more experience in tackling this, can they do better? Lets see
Off-spinner Ashwin extracted a lot of bounce from the wicket and removed Steve Smith for just 1 in his first over; Travis Head could score only 7 and debutant Cameron Green departed for 11. Ashwin’s three-wicket burst left Australia in trouble at 92/5 at tea on the second day.
Australia goes to the dinner break five wickets down and trail by 152 runs. Ashwin turns the tables around, puts India back on top with crucial blows in 2nd session. Score after 48 overs, AUS- 92/5
We're witnessing a brilliant spell of bowling from the Indian spinner. The ball wasn't a great one and was on the shorter side, Green went for the pull but Virat Kohli at mid-wicket takes a screamer. Half the Australian side is back in the hut. Score after 41 overs, AUS- 79/5
Ashwin gets his second! The ball drifted in on middle from round the wicket and then finds purchase as well. Head tries working it through the on-side, considering the original drift into him, and ends up spooning it back off the leading edge. Simple caught and bowled. What a spell this is. Head c and b Ashwin 7(20)
Gets the big wicket of Steve Smith. Smith is caught in the slips and a solid catch too. What a start from the off-spinner. Score after 27 overs, AUS- 45/3
Marnus mistiming a bouncer second time and he's got away both times. This is just lazy stuff from Shaw. Batsman couldn't control the pull, bit of a half shot, top edge, square leg only had to move back a few paces but he's not there and fumbles trying to catch above the head. Score after 23 overs, AUS 41-2
Smith and Labuschagne are at the crease for the second session Who'll take the next wicket in the coming session?
