AIKSCC activists' relay hunger strike against the Farm Laws entered the fifth day in Khammam on Friday.

Khammam: The relay hunger strike by All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) activists against the Central government’s Farm Laws in Khammam entered the fifth day on Friday.

The leaders of CPI, AITUC, Congress Kisan Morcha and AIKMS expressed solidarity with the Kisan Sangharsh’s hunger strike. Speaking to the media, the leaders said the BJP government’s anti-farmers’ policies had become a cause of concern.

They demanded that the Narendra Modi government immediately repeal the Farm Laws which were being opposed by farmers across the country. The Farm Laws were passed to serve the interests of corporate forces like Ambani and Adani, they said.

The Central government was fully undermining the interests of the common public and the farmers. The farming community would be at the mercy of corporate forces because of the Farm Laws, AITUC leader M Gandhi Venkat Jaya said, and pointed out that the NDA government had also diluted the Labour Laws with amendments aimed at restricting the rights of workers.

The amendments made to the Labour Laws were meant to exploit the workers.
The farming community was already troubled by the covid-19. Instead of supporting the farmers, the government has hurriedly passed the Farm Laws. In addition to that the farmers protesting at New Delhi were lathi-charged, said CPI leader D Ramesh.
