Adelaide, Dec 18 (UNI) India were 9/1 in their second innings at stumps on the second day of the day-night Test, here at the Adelaide Oval on Friday.
Starting their second innings 53 runs ahead after bowling out Australia for 191, India extended their lead to handy 62 runs when the stumps were drawn on Day 2.
Mayank Agarwal and night-watchman Jasprit Bumrah were unbeaten at the crease. The visitors lost opener Prithvi Shaw (4) minutes ahead of the end of day’s play.
Marnus Labuschagne (47) and skipper Tim Paine (73 not out) were the top scorers for the hosts in the first innings.
Ashwin jolted the hosts with a four-wicket haul while Umesh Yadav (16.1-5-40-3) and Jasprit Bumrah (21-7-52-2) were other wicket takers for India.
Earlier, India were all out for 244 in the first session of play. After resuming innings at 233 for 6, they lost four wickets for 11 runs.
