India tour of Australia 2020-21: Hello and welcome to Sportstar's LIVE Coverage of Day two of the first Test between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval.

Australia 29/2 after 17 overs: WICKET - Jasprit Bumrah strikes again and this time the pacer traps Burns with a yorker down the leg. The batsman went for the review and replays suggested the ball was just clipping the leg-stump. India won't mind that the group is pumped as Bumrah has packed off both the Australian openers.

Australia 20/1 after 15 overs: WICKET - Jasprit Bumrah strikes and he gives India the first breakthrough by trapping Matthew Wade, who fails to impress as a Test opener. Australia take the review but the on-field decision stays. Marnus Labuschagne opens his account in a streaky way as he edges Bumrah as the ball flies past low to the right of a diving Saha and through the cordon for a boundary.

Australia 16/0 after 14 overs: Bumrah and Shami are bowling well in tandem and despite not giving runs away, the Indians sense a wicket round the corner.

Australia 12/0 after 10 overs: Mohammed Shami into the attack and he starts in a decent way giving just two runs. The Indians have been attacking but one of them needs to produce a wicket-taking delivery or ensure the batsman makes a mistake to create the breakthrough.

Australia 8/0 after 7 overs: Both Burns and Wade are off the mark, with the latter pocketing a boundary but both Umesh and Bumrah have been relentless in their approach. India eyeing an opening.

Australia 0/0 after 4 overs: Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah have bowled four maidens in a row and Australia is yet to score a run. This is fantastic bowling from India.

Australia 0/0 after 1 Over: Right then! The Australian openers - Joe Burns and Matthew Wade will do the opening honours and it will be Umesh Yadav with the new Pink ball. India needs a good start here. Umesh swings the new ball most among the three Indian quicks in the XI, could be why he is bowling the first over. Two slips, gully, and short leg in place for Wade. A very good start from Umesh - a maiden first up.

==============================

GONE! India are all out. They started the day on 233 for 6 and have lost their remaining four wickets for just 11. Cummins gets Shami to end India's first innings. Cummins and Starc pick seven wickets between them.

India 244/9 after 93 Overs: GONE! It's a procession out there - another one bites the dust, Starc gets his fourth as Yadav holes out to Wade. India nine down. Shami joins Bumrah. Bumrah drives handsomely through covers for four. India inching towards 250.

India 235/8 after 91 Overs: GONE! Starc gets Saha, who is out caught behind. India folding in a jiffy. Bumrah joins Yadav in the middle. Just one run and a wicket off that over. The Aussie quicks have come out all guns blazing this afternoon.

India 234/7 after 90 Overs: The new ball is nine overs old. Saha and Ashwin are all set to resume action on day two. Out comes the Australian team led by Tim Paine.  Ashwin takes strike. Cummins to start proceedings - starts with a short ball, Ashwin sways out of the way. Two slips and a short leg for Ash.  GONE! Australia have got the early breakthrough, Ashwin is caught behind. Terrific start. It was a full delivery outside off, Ashwin pushed hard at it and the ball straightened to take the edge en route to the keeper. Umesh Yadav joins Saha.

==================================

Big first hour for both teams - India would want Saha and Ashwin to bat for time and get to that 300-mark. Australia, on the other hand, would be hoping to clean up the tail as quickly as possible. Allan Border, on air, feels it's still 50-50 and that the pitch will quicken up a bit, bringing India's fast bowlers into play.

News Update: There has been a new Covid-19 outbreak in Sydney's Northern Beaches region, which has prompted state governments to tighten their borders across Australia. While these are still early days, the cluster of cases threatens to cast doubts over planning around the SCG Test in the new year. However, Cricket Australia has maintained that it will not be rushed into making any decisions.

It was a slow pitch with steep bounce in Adelaide on day one. This is what the surface looks like as we warm up for all the action on day two of the first Test match.
