Farmers pleased with the Agri reform laws

Farmers pleased with the Agri reform laws

Bhagalpur, Dec 18 (UNI) Union Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fishery Minister Giriraj Singh today said that several farmers associations have welcomed the historic agricultural reform law and were happy with it.

Senior BJP leader, Mr Singh told newspersons here that all the three agricultural reform laws have generated a ray of hope among the farmers and as per the reports pouring in, most of the farmers in several parts of the country have started taking its benefits.

He said that confusion has deliberately been created among some of the associations of farmers and maintained that it is the responsibility of the associations to purge of the confusions and remove the worries of the farmers.

Mr Singh said that it is his responsibility to expose the conspiracy hatched to create a confusion laden environment around Delhi. Mr Singh said that being a farmer he understands the issues related to the class as he has experienced all the pangs related to agriculture and marketing of the yields.

The BJP leader said that the opposition was propagating confusion regarding several issues related to the law including the scrapping of minimum support price (MSP) system, the abolition of agricultural markets, danger and the farmer's lands which can be taken over by the contractors, contracts cannot be abolished by the farmers and several others.

The Minister ruled out the abolition of MSP and maintained that agricultural produce marketing committee (APMC) would continue to exist and would not be covered under the purview of the law
