RAJKOT: A man in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat had a narrow escape after being chased by a lion on Thursday. In the video, which has gone viral on social media, the man is seen deliberately teasing the jungle king before being chased away.
In the video, which was recorded by the man himself, the fully-grown lion is seen relaxing and enjoying sun in the farm field behind a stone wall before being 'provoked' by the man.
Taking cognizance of the video, the forest department has launched a probe and the man is likely to be booked under relevant sections of the Wildlife Protection Act.
As per the information, the video was recorded at Dron village of Gir Gadhda taluka in Gir Somnath district.
When contacted, Anshuman Sharma, deputy conservator of Gir (east) forest division said, "We have not received information about this video and we will investigate about it.”
