VADODARA: The leopard that killed two children in Ghoghamba taluka of Panchmahal district continues to fox the forest department while it relentless pursues its killing spree. However, it has now turned attention to domesticated animals killing two on consecutive days.
While the foresters are still trying to ascertain if it is the same wild cat or different one, a calf was killed in the Goyasundal village of the taluka on Tuesday, while another was killed in a leopard attack on Monday too in Guneshiya village. After a leopard had killed two children on December 8, frequent attacks have led to a panic in the area.
The forest department has installed six cages in the area where the leopard attacks took place. It has also installed trap cameras there to photograph the big cat. The leopard had also escaped with a goat kept as a bait in a trap as the door malfunctioned.
