NOIDA: The District Hospital Sector 30 has restricted one attendant per IPD (inpatients department) patient undergoing treatment at the hospital.
The attendant will be issued a photo ID pass which cannot be misused. The attendant will also be required to undergo a rapid antigen test and if he clears it, only then he will be allowed to stay with the patient.
Dr Renu Agrawal, chief medical superintendent (CMS) at the District Hospital Sector 30, said, “We have restricted IPD attendants to only one. Earlier, many attendants would turn up for IPD patients as there were no restrictions. This not only created problems for the management but also posed a threat of infection.”
“Only in emergency or exceptional situations, more than one attendant will be allowed and that will be subject to clearance by the doctor in-charge,” said Dr Agrawal, adding that currently daily OPD footfall is 650-700 at the hospital.
The hospital currently has 53 patients admitted in IPD.
