As we all know very soon there are assembly elections in West Bengal but before that, the challenges for the ruling Trinamool Congress and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee are increasing. On the one hand, Nandigram MLA Shubhendu Adhikari has resigned from the membership of the Assembly and has taken another step towards breaking ties with the Trinamool Congress, while some other MLAs and a Lok Sabha MP also showed rebellion before Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Bengal. The problems of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee increased.
These developments happened at a time when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was engaged in holding rallies in North Bengal. Successive TMC leaders are expressing dissatisfaction against the party and leadership, and Home Minister Amit Shah is yet to visit Bengal.
Meanwhile, amid a stampede in the party, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said at a rally in Cooch Behar, "People cannot change their character every day." You can change clothes every day but not ideology. Do you guys, common man believe in me? Those who have been with the party from the beginning are still there. Some people who came later are leaving us.
