He had battled neuroendocrine tumour for a year, and returned to India after undergoing treatment in the UK. He finished the shoot of Angrezi Medium after his comeback in films. Irrfan passed away after he contracted an infection at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The actor's sons Ayaan and Babil often share memories of the late actor. Babil has posted a picture of Irrfan with a Shih Tzu dog from the sets of Blackmail. We can see the powerhouse performer in a checked shirt cradling the canine in his arms.
