UP: 11 teachers dismissed on basis of invalid degree in Bulandshahr

Bulandshahr, Dec 17 (UNI) Eleven teachers working in the Council schools of the Basic Education Department after pursuing B.Ed and BTC from Jammu-Kashmir, have been dismissed on allegations of their degree not being recognized by National Council of Teachers Education (NCTE) in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr.
Basic Shiksha Adhikari Akhand Pratap Singh on Thursday here said that the degrees of 11 teachers, who have done their B.Ed and BTC from Jammu-Kashmir, were found suspicious. The colleges from where these teachers got their degrees are not recognized by the NCTE. On the orders of the government, all these teachers have been dismissed and a related report has also been sent to the government and the department.
He said that on the orders of the government, teachers were recruited in the Council schools of the Basic Education Department in the district in the past years. Candidates who had passed B.Ed and BTC were also recruited from various colleges and universities and some of the teachers who pursued the same from Jammu-Kashmir were also recruited.
During a check of the certificates post recruitment, it was found that the concerned colleges from where these teachers have taken their degrees were not recognized by the NCTE.
Mr Singh said that the teachers who had done their B.Ed and BTC from Jammu-Kashmir were identified in the whole state and after an order from the government, the BSA had stopped the salaries of 11 teachers in October. Apart from this, these teachers had also been issued show-cause notices.
Following the completion of a probe, the BSA dismissed these 11 teachers on the order of the government.
