22-yr-old Man found dead

Amritsar: A 22-year-old man was found murdered in an abandoned house near Gilwali Gate in C division area on Tuesday night. The deceased has been identified as Manthan Dhingra. He was shot in the back. It has been learnt that someone called him at an abandoned house and shot him dead. On Wednesday morning, people saw the body and informed the police and family members of the victim. Preliminary investigation revealed that Manthan had been missing since last two months. Gagandeep Singh, in-charge C Division police station, said the police were questioning Manthan’s friends and their call detail records were being investigated. The police have seized CCTV camera footage of nearby areas. Manthan’s father is working as tailor. After passing Class X, the victim was unemployed for the past three years. The family advised him to resume his studies if he did not get any job. This year he had enrolled in Class XII. After postmortem, his body was handed over to family members, the police said. TNS
