Congress to organise demonstration in front of all SP offices in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Dec 17 (UNI) Congress will hold demonstrations and protest meetings in front of offices of all district Superintendent of Police across the state on December 21 next in protest against government’s failure and Police inaction in checking the rising incidents of missing children in the state.
Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee President Niranjan Patnaik said Party district Presidents in each district will organise the demonstration and protest meetings from 10 AM to 1 PM on the day and apprise all present and former people’s representatives including the MLAs and MPs about the issue.

Mr Patnaik said around 11 children were missing daily in the state and nearly 4315 children were being abducted in a year.
The Congress leader said the BJD which is in power for the last 21 years has miserably failed to check it.
He alleged the children are being sexually assaulted and abducted as the Chief Minister who is in charge of the Home department is keeping mum over such sensitive issues.
Mr Patnaik said the Collectors and the SPs are not showing the kind of expediency they should check such kind of incidents.
He said the Law and order situation in the state has collapsed.
Mr Patnaik said over 7,000 minor children including 5050 girls were missing in the state from September 2016 till today.
Odisha, Mr Patnaik said, reported third highest incidents related to atrocities on women and domestic violence in the country.
Similarly, the incidents of domestic violence, rape, murder, atrocities on women, gangrape are rising every year but the government failed to control it, he said.
