Three die of Covid, total case reach 27,454

Imphal, Dec 17 (UNI) Three people died of Covid while 81 new cases
were detected and 143 were discharged. In the past twenty-four hours,
69 persons (35M, 34F) from the general population and 12 personnel from
Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVIDI9
positive cases.
The positive persons were tested at JNIMS (19), RIMS (18), Imphal West
(3), Hillside (1), CMC (1). Escent Diagnostics (2), Shija Hospital
(10), Raj Medicity (2). Advance Hospital (2), Jivan Hospital (1),
Thoubal (9), Bishnupur (4), Churachandpur (2), Kangpokpi (1), Pherzawl
(1) and Babina Diagnostics (5).
The positive cases from the general population were from Imphal West (21),
Imphal East (20), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (9), Kakching (1), Senapati
(1), Kangpokpi (1), Pherzawl (1) and Churachandpur (3). All were
locals without any significant travel history. All necessary medical
precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing were in
place.
In the last 24 hours, three persons aged 70 yrs (male, Imphal West),
62 yrs (female, Imphal West) and 67 yrs (male, Chandet) expired at
Shija Hospital (2) and RIMS Hospital (1) respectively. The cumulative
number of deaths was 332.
The total number of discharged persons was 143. They were from CAPF
(12), Home Isolation (100), RIMS (6), JNIMS (6), LKK (5), UNACCO (4),
Rajmed (1), PR Kakching (2), DH Churachandpur (1), Bal Bhavan (3) and
Thoubal (3).
The cumulative number of positive cases was 27,454 (General Population
— 24,130 and Central Security Personnel — 3,324). The cumulative
number of recovered cases is 25,250 (General Population — 22,132 and
Central Security Personnel — 3,118). The number of active cases was
1,872 (General Population — 1.670 and Central Security Personnel —
202). The recovery rate was 91.97 % said Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar
