Mohammed Amir announces indefinite break from cricket: Pakistan’s ace pacer Mohammad Amir has decided to take an indefinite break from international cricket. He has cleared that he has reservations with current management and is visibly hurt after being dropped from the team for the New Zealand T20Is. He has made some serious allegations on the current management of the Pakistan team while stating that he is being mentally tortured as well.
Mohammad Amir alleged that he was being mentally tortured time and again after retiring from Test format last year. He also slammed at the bowling coach Waqar Younis who said that the pace bowler ditched the team ahead of the Australia tour and was one of the reasons for the team’s loss Down Under. Rather Amir stated that he wanted to give his 100% for Pakistan in white-ball cricket.

“My personal decision to leave Test cricket was taken in a wrong way. My retirement was attached to my desire of playing T20 leagues. I was wishing to invest everything in white-ball cricket for Pakistan. But every now and then some one or the other person came out with a statement. Our bowling coach came out and said, I ditched them, somebody says work load wasn’t properly handled,” he further added.
Mohammed Amir, in the end, also cleared that once he reaches Pakistan, after talking to his family, he will release an official statement regarding the matter. “I will reach Pakistan within two days and meet my family. I will then release a proper statement telling the actual reason for my decision,” Amir concluded.
Amir recently participated in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) which concluded on Wednesday. He bowled exceptionally well in the tournament while featuring for the Galle Gladiators in the tournament who ended as the runners-up after losing the final to Jaffna Stallions.
The left-arm pacer, who arrived onto the scene in a T20I game against England in June 2009, participated in 147 international fixtures in which he took 259 wickets. He was part of the Pakistan squad which won the 2009 World T20I and was also part of the side that won the Champions Trophy title in 2017.
