Shimla shivers at 3.6 deg C

Shimla, Dec 17 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh on Thursday recorded cold wave conditions with capital Shimla recording minimum 3.6 degree celcius temperature, one degree below normal.
As per the state meteorological department, the mercury went to sub zero in Lahaul Spiti, which froze at - 8 deg C. Kalpa in Kinnuar was at -4.5 deg, Solan -1.6 deg, Manali -1.2 deg, Kullu -1.8 deg, Palampur zero deg, Mandi -0.6 deg.
Dalhousie recorded minimum at 0.4 deg, Mandi and Chamba 1 degree each, Dharmshala 1.2 deg, Kufri 1.4 deg, Una 1.5 deg, Nahan 2.5 deg, Hamirpur 2.7 deg and Bilaspur 3 deg C.
The Met Office has forecast mainly dry weather for next two weeks and Christmas without snowfall.It warned of dense fog in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur, with visibility less than 500 meters.
