Mumbai logs 795 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths

Mumbai reported 12 Covid-related deaths in the past 24 hours.
MUMBAI: The tally of Covid-19 cases in Mumbai went up to 2,84,404 with the addition of 795 new cases on Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said.
With 12 more patients succumbing to the Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, the death toll rose to 11,007, it said.
A day before, Mumbai had recorded 521 new cases and seven fatalities.
"Due to reconciliation process on the Covid portal, 1,971 duplicate cases were removed from the data of the progressive cases," the BMC said.
The number of active cases in the city fell further to 6,958 after the removal of 1,854 duplicate cases from the list of ICMR during the reconciliation process.
The number of Covid-19 tests conducted in the city so far reached 21.34 lakh.
The number of recoveries rose to 2,65,602 with 751 more patients getting discharged from hospitals, the civic body said.
The average doubling rate of cases in Mumbai reached 334 days, while the average growth rate is 0.21 per cent.
