Four booked in dowry cases

Ludhiana: Two dowry harassment cases were registered by the women cell of the city police on . In the first case, on the complaint of Sapna of Gurdev Nagar, a case of dowry harassment has been registered against woman’s husband Pritpal Singh and his mother Narinder Kaur of Ajit Nagar, Haibowal Kalan. The complainant told the police that she got married to the suspect in January this year and after the marriage, she was subjected to mental and physical harassment for want of dowry. Investigating officer ASI Ashwani Kumar said after registering a case, further probe had been initiated in the matter. In another case, Davinder Kaur of Jain Colony told the police that she got married to Barinder Singh of Rajpura, Patiala, in 2018. A few months after her marriage, her husband and father-in-law started torturing her, demanding more dowry. The two booked persons were yet to be arrested by the police in the case. TNS
