18 more catch Corona in Hoshiarpur dist, tally rises to 7406 cases

Hoshiarpur, Dec 16 (UNI) With the reporting of 18 new coronavirus cases, the district tally rose to 7406, said a senior doctor in a health bulletin issued here Wednesday evening.
He said of the total reported cases 6978 patients had been cured and discharged and 144 active cases were undergoing treatment in Covid Care Centres in the district. As many as 284 persons lost their lives due to coronavirus till date.
The Health Department Wednesday received reports of 1680 samples of which six people of local Hoshiarpur and the remaining 12 were from other health centres of the district were reported coronavirus positive. Samples of 1274 persons having symptoms of flu had been taken Wednesday.
The total samples of suspected coronavirus patients taken by the Health Department in the district are 217085 of which 209353 were found negative till date. Reports of 1810 samples are still awaited. 149 samples were found invalid.
