YAMUNANAGAR: Three youths have been killed and one got injured in a fatal road crash after their car collided with a tree on Khajuri-Jathlana road at about 12.30am in Yamunanagar district on Wednesday.
The district police said that the deceased persons were identified as Mohit Kumar (29) of Alipura in Yamunanagar district, Gaurav (25) and Ajay (24) of Sura village in Kurukshetra district. The injured was identified as Gaurav (23) of Sura village.
Jathlana police station house officer (SHO) Dharampal said, “At about 12.30am on Wednesday, Mohit was driving the car and they were heading towards Yamunanagar from Jathlana side on a single road. When they reached a sharp turn near Khajuri village, Mohit lost control in the night as another vehicle that came from the front blinded his vision with high-beam headlights. He could not judge the sharp turn and collide with a tree on the roadside.”
The SHO said that after the collision, the car turned over and four occupants got stuck in the vehicle.
“The surviving Gaurav came out of the accidental vehicle as he managed to open the window on his side, but the rest of the three remained stuck for long. It was night time and we reached the spot as soon as we received the information. All four persons were rescued and rushed to the hospital. Where the doctors declared Mohit, Gaurav, and Ajay dead”, said SHO Jathlana.
The SHO added that the condition of injured is out of danger.
“On the complaint of surviving Gaurav, we have registered a case against unknown vehicle driver who caused the accident due to high beam of headlights under Section 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Jathlana police station on Wednesday”, said SHO Jathlana.
He added that the dead bodies of the deceased persons have been handed over to their family members after their post-mortems at the civil hospital in Yamunanagar.
