THANE: A rescue team of Sanjay Gandhi National Park visited the area where a leopard, suspected to be injured, was spotted near hotels in Yeoor forest.
Villagers informed forest officials of the big cat's sighting late in the afternoon as it was not moving for long.
"A team was sent as the leopard was suspected to be injured and it was not moving much and had stayed at the spot for long. But by the time the team reached the spot it had left and went into the forest," said Rajendra Pawar, range forest officer, Yeoor (SGNP).
It is learnt that sighting of big cats at that spot is common, especially post-sunset.
