Suspected militant arrested; arms, ammunition recovered in Pulwama

Srinagar, Dec 16 (UNI) Security forces arrested a suspected militant and recovered arms and ammunition in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, official sources said on Wednesday.

Security forces intercepted a three-wheeler at Malikpora, Pulwama on Tuesday night. During search, the forces recovered one AK 7 rifle and magazine, they said. The driver identified as MudasirAhmad was arrested.

Further investigation has been initiated.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 3,425

Bhopal, Dec 15 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,425 on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh where 13 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally touched 2,25,709 with 1,073 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 27,551 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 12,516. Indore District continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 419 new instances, Bhopal 185, Gwalior 43, Jabalpur 34, Ratlam 20, Sagar 15, Mandsaur 11, etc. The silver lining is that 2,09,768 individuals recuperated; 1,347 of them on this very day.

Man kills wife, kids

Satna, MP, Dec 15 (UNI) A shockwave swept across Nai Basti in Majhgawan Police Station limits as news spread on Tuesday of a man having slit the throats of his spouse and their two minor children prior to committing suicide by hanging.
Law-enforcement authorities said that Dharmu Verma targeted Aayush (2), Kreyal (7) and Jyoti (28). The motive is unclear.

Ex-minister rejoins BJP

Bhopal, Dec 15 (UNI) Erstwhile central minister Sartaj Singh, who joined the Congress about a couple of years back during Assembly elections, re-entered the saffron camp here on Tuesday in the presence of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other Bharatiya Janata Party stalwarts.
The rejoining took place during a convention of cultivators from Bhopal and Narmadapuram divisions. Mr Singh is a resident of Hoshangabad District’s Seoni Malwa area.
