Lucknow, Dec 16 (UNI) Total Covid-19 positive cases in Uttar Pradesh touched 5,69,263 after 1277 fresh cases were detected on Wednesday.
Though the number of fresh cases have gone down, but government figure shows that one-third of the positive Covid cases so far were detected in the age group of 21 to 30 years.
However, the fatality rate was 70 per cent in the age group from 50 years and above.
State Additional chief secretary health Amit Mohan Prasad said here there are 17,801 positive cases in which 7758 are in home isolation, 1835 in private hospitals and rest in the government run Covid hospitals.
A total of 5,43,344 people have recovered from the virus including 1765 who were released on Wednesday A total of 8118 people had succumbed to the deadly virus including 16 Wednesday.
Mr Prasad said on Tuesday the state and private labs tested 1,57,297 Covid-19 samples and now the total tests has gone up to 2,18,44,458, highest in the country.
The state health department has undertaken surveillance in 1.74 lakh areas by 4.87 lakh teams which has visited 3.04 crore houses and checked the health of 14.84 crore people.
Meanwhile, Lucknow continued to be the hotspot in the state with 206 fresh cases and 4 deaths. In other places of the state, the fresh cases were in 2 digit.
Meanwhile, the government said of the total 5.69 lakh positive cases so far in the state, 3.54 per cent were in the age group of 0 to 10 yrs, 9.83 per cent in the age of 11 to 20 years, 25.24 per cent in the age of 21 to 30 years, 21.35 per cent in the age of 31 to 40 years. 16.10 per cent in the age of 41 to 50 years, 13.38 per cent in the age of 51 to 60 years and 10.56 per cent in the age above 60 years.
In the death figures, 45.82 per cent are above 60 years and 24.83 per cent are in the age of 50 to 60 years.
