Ex-Karnataka Minister Renuka Rajendran passes away

Bengaluru, Dec 16(UNI) Former Karnataka Minister and senior Congress leader Renuka Rajendran died in a private hospital last night due to age related illness. She was 78.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Rajendran served as Minister for Sericulture in former Chief Minister Gundurao's cabinet.

Recently, she had recovered from the Covid-19.  She had represented Chikkaballapur Assembly constituency thrice and had won last in 1989.

According to family sources on Wednesday the last rites will be held later in the evening.

36 TN fishermen arrested by Lankan Navy, TN leaders urge EAM to secure their release

Chennai, Dec 16 (UNI) After a gap of nearly eight months,
the Sri Lankan Navy has arrested 36 fishermen from Tamil
Nadu for fishing in the Lankan waters on Tuesday, even as
leaders of various political parties condemned it and urged
External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar to take steps to
secure their release.
