JORHAT: Forest staffers of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve have launched a search operation in and around the park against the two poachers who had escaped during an anti-poaching operation on Sunday night.
While two poachers were arrested during the operation, two others managed to escape.
Divisional forest officer (Biswanath) Mukut Das told TOI, “Our investigation is on to nab the two poachers. The arrested men have told us the names and addresses of the escaped poachers. We have launched a combing operation in all probable destinations. However no one has been arrested so far.”
Park director P Shivakumar said, “ The two poachers had fled by taking advantage of darkness and fog.”
