Cop attacked by bike-borne miscreant in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: A head constable on duty was attacked allegedly by a bike-borne unidentified miscreant near New Chitra Junction in Alake on Wednesday noon.
Ganesh Kamath, who is posted at Mangaluru north police station, was checking vehicles when a bike-borne miscreant came and attacked him with a sickle. Kamath sustained an injury on his hand.
According to Kamath, the miscreant was a youngster and fled immediately from the spot. The reason behind the attack is not known.
A case has been registered at Mangaluru east police station in this regard.
Youth attacked
Mohammed Tajuddin (28), a resident of Addoor, was attacked with lethal weapons by people known to him in Addoor, on Wednesday morning.
According to police, personal enmity is behind the attack and the incident took place when the victim was returning home from Addoor. He is being treated at hospital in the city and a case has been registered.
