SP'S Lawyer Wing protests demanding release of arrested party workers

Lucknow, Dec 16 (UNI) Demanding the release of the party workers arrested for protesting in support of the farmers' movement, the Lawyer Wing of the Samajwadi Party (SP) protested outside the ACP Kakori office here on Wednesday.
During this time, an effort was made to pacify the advocates but they insisted on their demand for the release of the workers due to which there was a log jam on the road.
Upon receiving information, ADCP South Suresh Chandra Rawat tried to bring the matter under control and talk to the advocates but it did not yield any result.
As many as 69 SP workers, who had been protesting in support of the farmers' movement, had been taken into custody by the police last week. Out of these, 17 advocates are still reportedly in jail.
