Auto stocks trade higher as investors remain positive in heavyweights; Eicher Motors top performer

The index touched a high of 9,154.80 and low of 9,052.05 on Tuesday.

The Auto sector traded on a higher note amidst a volatile trade session on Tuesday. The Nifty auto sector traded higher despite bearish market tone for most part of the day.

At around 3.10 pm, Nifty Auto index was trading 52.60 points higher or 0.58% at 9,145.70. The index touched a high of 9,154.80 and low of 9,052.05 on Tuesday. 

Eicher Motors  surged 76.35 points higher or 3.18%. While Bharat Forge was also going strong  gaining by 1.78%, followed by Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra and Maruti which also contributed to the gains.

Balkrishna Industries was at the bottom, trading below 1% while TVS Motor, MRF, Bajaj Auto and Ashok Leyland traded in the red.

BSE sensex was trading at 46,289.11 up 35.65 points or 0.08% and Nifty 50 at 13,574.70 up 16.55 points or 0.12% at around 3.12 pm.
