Journalist hurt while saving nurse from knife attack

Guwahati, Dec 15 (UNI) A local journalist, Afnur Ali, was seriously injured here last night while trying to save a woman from a knife attack.
Ali, who works for a Guwahati-based TV channel, witnessed a nurse of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) being attacked with a sharp weapon in the Hospital premise at around 9 PM.
He rushed to the aid of the nurse and was himself injured in the process.
Both the nurse and Ali were admitted at the Hospital and both sustained multiple cuts on their faces
and head.
The attacker, identified as one Pankaj Baishya, was immediately nabbed by police.
In an inebriated state, he has reportedly claimed that he was in a relationship with the nurse and had come from Jorhat to meet her.
