MADURAI: Makkal Needhi Maiam leader Kamal Haasan on Tuesday said he too would play the ``MGR card’’ during upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
“Many present-day ministers would not have seen the bright face of MGR. But I was a person who sat on the lap of MGR, and he greeted me whenever I achieved something big or small. MGR belongs to all the people of Tamil Nadu,’’ Kamal said while campaigning in Virudhunagar and Tuticorin districts. People in the state would give a befitting reply to those who lay individual claims to MGR, he added.
When reporters asked him about actor Rajanikanth’s political entry, he said, “Our friendship is just a phone call away. We both came into politics for the same reason -- the need for a change. We may cooperate in future if our polices agree.”
