Jharkhand registered 209 fresh coronavirus cases, tally reaches 1,11,931

Ranchi, Dec 15 (UNI) The coronavirus tally in the state reached 1,11,931 on Tuesday, as 209 fresh cases were detected across 19 districts of Jharkhand.

During the day 1 more COVID death was reported from Ranchi district taking the overall death count to 1001. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.89 per cent.

As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,578 while number of those cured and discharged stood at 1,09,352.

On Tuesday the maximum number of 98 cases were found in Ranchi, followed by 38 in East Singhbhum, 15 in Dhanbad, 14 in Bokaro and 8 in Ramgarh.

A total of number of 211 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated COVID-19 facilities during the day, including 113 from Ranchi, 24 from East Singhbhum, 21 from Dhanbad, 10 from Bokaro and 7 from Khunti district.

Despite the rampant rise in coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of COVID patients has improved significantly and has crossed the 97 percent mark and currently stands at 97.69 percent in the state.

So far 45,44,788 samples have been collected in the state, out of which 45,33,044 have been tested and 44,21,113 have turned out to be negative.
