COVID: Hoshiarpur reports 18 new cases

Hoshiarpur, Dec 15 (UNI) With the detection of 18 new COVID-19 cases, the total tally in the district surged to 7,338, the health bulletin stated here.
In a health bulletin issued here this evening Civil Surgeon, Hoshiarpur, Dr. Jasbir Singh, stated that of the total reported cases 6945 patients had been cured and discharged and 159 active cases were undergoing treatment in Covid Care Centres in the district. As many as 284 persons lost their lives due to coronavirus till date.
The Health Department today received reports of 799 samples of which 7 persons of local Hoshiarpur and the remaining 11 were from other health centres of the district were reported coronavirus positive. Samples of 1339 persons having symptoms of flu had been taken today.
The total samples of suspected coronavirus patients taken by the Health Department in the district are 215811 of which 207681 were found negative till date. Reports of 2217 samples are still awaited. 149 samples were found invalid.

Chandigarh, Dec 15 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab President and MP Bhagwant Mann has levelled serious allegations on Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, calling him as a puppet in the hands of the Modi Government at the Centre. Mann said that Captain Amarinder Singh had bartered the interest of Punjab due to his personal 'weaknesses' and to protect the members of his family involved in serious cases of money laundering. He has challenged Captain that if he had the guts, he should go to the farmers movement and tell the Modi government to address the concerns of the country's 'Annadata' by rolling back the three contentious farm laws.
