Delhi clocks in 1,617 new COVID cases, recovery rate at 95.97 pc

New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) Continuing with the downward trend in terms of the daily spike in nCoV cases for the past several days, the National Capital on Tuesday recorded 1,617 fresh infections of Novel Coronavirus, the state health bulletin said here.

With these new additions, the city's overall COVID tally has reached 6,10,447, according to the bulletin.

The active case load of pandemic has dropped by 767 since Monday, and presently, the city houses 14,480 active cases of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, total 2,343 COVID patients defeated the virus during the past 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 5,85,852, the government data said, adding that the city's recovery rate now stands at 95.97 per cent.

However, the city witnessed 41 more casualties due to the highly contagious virus since Monday, pushing the death toll to 10,115 till date.

Talking of the patients under home isolation, the city witnessed a drop by 758 since past one day, and presently, the figure stands at 8,516, while the containment zones reached 6,420, the bulletin added.
